I was a MM1(SS) in M Div. serving aboard on the Gold Crew from Sep. 68 through Oct. 72. I am looking forward to seeing

and telling a couple of Sea Stories to my former shipmates I served with on MR. SAM, SSBN 635 - GOLD. See you at the

Comments:

Had a Super time at the Reunion! Especially meeting with my Gold Crew shipmates from 1968 through 1972. I was in total

surprise during the tolling of the bell, only because I was not aware of the passing of two close Submariners, who I was very

proud to serve with, Walt Koss and Clay Francis. I look forward to our Second Reunion and I am sure it will be another

complete success!! Thanks again to Larry Oiler, Harlan Brown and All the Super Team that our Inaugural Reunion was such a

positive Blast!!!!!!

Master Chief Tucker, and I mean that sincerely. You worked hard for

those Two Stars and being a sea going sailor you know what I mean...

Gary, Thank you very much for the great critique you wrote on our reunion

adventure. It was truly a great point of my life as I am sure it was the

same for you and your wonderful wife, Virginia.

I want to express my thanks and appreciation for your invitation and if I

get the chance I will be on your doorstep knocking and looking for a

place to stay when I am in God's Country, I mean Idaho. I will never

forget the great experience when I went through prototype at A1W, I am

sure you remember that or where did you go to prototype? What super

country up there!!

You may not remember me that well but I remember you very well being my

boss when I reported to Mr. Sam. I transferred from my first boat, USS

TULLIBEE (SSN597) to SAM RAYBURN in 1968. We made one run together. I

was the new kid on board and you were the old salt. God Bless You, even

though some folks had some negative things to say about you, You kept us

in line and ran a tight boat aft and I respect that. After all we are

alive because of leaders such as yourself.

I certainly appreciated your comments concerning your feelings about the

shipmates you served with on the Rayburn. She truly was a great boat and

is still serving our Country training baby nukes, and god bless them, we

need them to keep the watch!

Well, what do you think, I thank you for your comments in your critique

concerning myself still being on active duty, I think you know where I

come from and confidentially,

Brother, I try

to keep my opinions straight forward and do the best I can. Fortunately

I have worked for some pretty great people in both the Navy and Coast

Guard including yourself. The Admiral I work for here in HQ is also a

very straight shooter and he keeps me out of trouble when I start yelling

to load. Believe me Gary, there are still some good down to Earth

people, who give a damn about what is happening to our Country. I know

that is hard to believe seeing what the electorate has done to us. I am

part of that voting body, but apparently I have been in the minority in

the last few years.

Have not received my orders yet, but looks like I am headed back to the

West Coast soon. That's okay, maybe I'll miss a major winter in DC this

year. I will be stationed at Coast Guard Island, Alameda CA.

Well I have rattled on enough for one message, I just want you to know,

even though I am on active duty and you are looking out for me! Give em

hell, you are right on! Did you ever get a response from ADM Larson?

Take care Brother and talk to you soon, Dennis
